Hi experts,
Are freeware Anti Virus always had an error like the picture shown below?
avast! Free Antivirus Setup
Setup Finished
There was an error while completing the setup process.
View setup log
Finish
This freeware Avast antivirus is only given from a friend and tried to run the setup and install it. But as you can see the error show up. As I click the "View setup log" the log window open and viewed the logs as you have observed that some files has been detected as error.
I don't know how to resolve the error that's why I ask some help by posting my concern here. Does the freeware antivirus always have an error, when the setup is running?

Jezs
Setup finished but error occur while completing the setup process
Dear Jezsie,
Freeware antivirus not give an error message during or after installation. You should try to download a free antivirus software from any authentic site like https://www.avast.com/index. Possible reason / solution for this error are:
-
Your firewall setting has not allow to this antivirus. just disable your firewall for a while and after installation, enable firewall again.
-
Avast antivirus package is corrupt which you got from your friend and you need to other fresh copy for installation.
-
There are viruses in your system and these viruses block avast antivirus to install. you can check your system viruses online from https://www.eset.com/us/home/online-scanner/Â then install this software again.
Thanks.

Your PC may have some viruses, these virus do corrupt some files of antivirus program. I would suggest you to install other antivirus program, do scan, then uninstall it if you like only avast , install avast, and see what happens ?

No, there should be no problem when installing an antivirus whether it is the free version or the premium version. Like any other application, when installing a security program like an antivirus or a firewall, make sure your computer meets the requirements. If you want to install Avast Free Antivirus, check if your computer is compatible.
The latest Avast Free Antivirus at the moment supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10. It requires 256 MB RAM and 1.5 GB free space. If you are installing an old version, try downloading the latest Avast Free Antivirus. Avast is also available for Mac and Android.
