Sharing internet by ethernet mountain lion Windows 8?

I can't connect my Mac with OSX Mountain Lion to a Windows 8 computer over wifi?  I already changed the workgroup on my mac and matched it with the same workgroup name on Windows 8 and I still can't connect to the network.  Not detected.  How do I share internet by ethernet mountain lion windows 8?

Sorry to hear you're having issues.

Are you trying to share files between your two computers or are you trying to share an internet connection?

If you're trying to share files, have you set both computers up on the same network and enabled file sharing capabilities on both?

If that doesn't seem to be working, as a fast workaround, you could consider using an online medium like DropBox – which can appear as a drive that is local to both your computers: https://www.dropbox.com/

If you're trying to share an internet connection, you might want to use a router.

Can you provide a few more details about the problem you are experiencing?
