Japan as one of the most advance in terms of technological innovation, proves its reputation when Softbank launched the world's radiation detection phone.

Will the phone be available to other countries besides Japan?

What phone company would possibly adopt the same technology?

Dear Ingridgonzalou,

Softbank Japan is going to launch world’s first mobile phone Pantone 5 107SH which is equipped with a Geiger counter making it capable of detecting radiation level with an accuracy of 20%. Pantone 5 is with 1.4GHz processor, 4GB internal memory with microSD slot support up to 32GB, 1GB RAM, 4MP camera, 3.7 LCD with a resolution of 854×480.

Besides that this mobile phone is said to be water proof and dust proof gadget. At the front of the phone there is a button, when pressed provides access to a radiation sensor and the phone launches an app that reads the radiation in the air. Pantone 5 will be available initially in market of Japan only in mid of July this year, however there is no word from the company about its availability in other countries. No other company has yet announced to work on any similar project.

Thanks,
