Should be firewall turned on/off for easy FTP sharing on Mac
My question is that firewall should be turned on or off for easy FTP sharing on mac?
And can I make accessible my FTP server from whole world without installing DynDNS?

Hi,
The firewall of your mac must be turned on for easy sharing. If the firewall is not on you can't share anything. Yes you can access your mac from anywhere and for that thing you have to install DynDns. DynDns will make your computer FTP server and available for everyone. If you move your mac from one location to another and also changed the mac IP address.
Here is the following procedure.
1. Make an account on dyndns website.
2. They will email you for confirmation just click on it.
3. On your left near at the bottom Add host service afterwards Add dynamic dns host.
4. For your FTP server selects a host name and also choose a domain.
5. Dyndns updater must be downloaded.
6. Before downloading it will ask you for password as an administrator give what you want and keep it safe with you.
7. Enter your username, Password and description. Must click on the secure connection SSL check box. All have to do these things in Dyndns updater.
8. User window in the Dyndns updater Press start button. If it shows status ok that means you can access your mac from anywhere now.
