Should I get the Raid controller in the PC1 2 x4 slot?

I bought 3 SSDs, 2 of which are 850 evo and the other 840 evo 256GB. Each individual drive has half a GB in speeds. I am using a Raid controller but it can not allow me to raid them. I am now looking for a new Raid controller that is on new egg but I still do not know if it is worth it. Will I get 1.5 GBs out of it when in raid 0? Since I have only the PCI 2.0 4x slot to use with the 970 and a x16 slot, should I go ahead to get the new controller?
