Hi,
I’m having a side by side error with BitDefender Antivirus Pro 2011 and BitDefender Internet Security 2011 with Windows 7 64 bits!
Bitdefender Internet Security 2011 has a bug in Windows 7 that shows an error that Bitdefender has encountered a critical error and you need to restart the computer, and after restarting, it shows another error saying Bitdefender has stopped responding.
If you are using Bitdefender Internet Security 2010, you are very less likely to face such a problem so if you want an updated security program, you can download Bitdefender Internet Security 2010 from here:
You can face this side by side error if your version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables has certain files missing or corrupted. C++ redistributables is necessary for certain software on the computer, like Bitdefender.
Â
So if the C++ has corrupted or missing files,
Â
Follow the steps below:
Â
1. Go to Add or Remove Programs and remove all Microsoft C++ Redistributables from there. If you are using Windows 7, go to Default Programs à Programs and Features and uninstall it from there.
Â
2. Restart your computer.
Â
3. Follow this link to download the file. https://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall/. This removes Bitdefender safely from your computer.
Â
4. Right-click the file once it’s been downloaded and choose Run as Administrator. Click Uninstall and restart your computer again.
Â
5. Download CCleaner or any other registry cleaning tool and remove the leftover files of Bitdefender. 6. Download this and reinstall Bitdefender. https://www.bitdefender.com/Downloads/. If you follow the above steps carefully, your problem should be resolved by now.
Â
However, if it still persists, perform a system repair on your operating system and follow the above mentioned steps again. Or to reduce hassle, install other security program like Microsoft Security Essentials.
