Sim card error occuring on newly bought htc one m8

I just bought an HTC one m8 from sprint carrier. I am facing an issue when I insert my sim card it says that the sim is invalid. I tried to take the sim out and clean it, the same message persists. I am currently abroad and turning on roaming does not help.

Sim card error occuring on newly bought htc one m8

You are receiving a sim card error because the phone is locked to a different carrier/network different to that of your phone. In order to fix that, you need to take your phone to a technician who would need to unlock it so that the phone can accept any network and not sprint only.
