Site system servers and site domains

Hi

Is it a pre-requisite to all site system servers that a site must be in the similar domain? I need to know about this.

Hi

Yes it is a pre-requisite that every site of the server should be present in the similar domain. This is because when you access the site address it should have to go to the server first and if the server is same then it will directly take you to the path you have written if you place that in other domain then it is difficult for the server to understand where should be the file present on the domain and on which domain it is present so it is necessary that the domain should be similar for the server and for the sites. This also increase the speed of the site as server does not have to travel so far as it has known the domain and the path and the location of the site so it is easy for the server to access that.

It's not necessary to be a member of an active directory domain for any site to access. But its a good practice to keep the site in the same active directory domain as this will help you in fast search of your site, If its being kept in other domain it will take more time to search your exact site from the server.
 
If we will keep our site in the same active directory then it will increase the speed and will get a faster access.
