Hi Friends,
Whenever I attempted to sign in SKYPE, i.e. as SKYPE begins to launch I get an error message, saying
"SKYPE has encountered a problem and needs to close".Â
And then the SKYPE doesn’t get started. I have already tried to solve this problem by uninstalling and then installing it again. But nothing works.
Please help me to solve this problem. I Â am using Windows XP as the operating system.Â
Skype has encountered a problem when logging in
Hi Jay,
I am really sorry to hear about your problem. You can try the following method to resolve your issues with Skype.
-
Firstly, uninstall Skype normally. Restart your computer.
-
Navigate to Application folder in C:Documents and Settings*Your username*Application Data
-
In there, rename folder called Skype.
Once you do this, try again to install a fresh copy of Skype from here. If it's still doesn't work, do this:
-
Right click on the Skype icon – click Properties and then click on the Compatibility tab; under Input Settings, check the box 'Turn off advanced text services for this program" and hit Apply.
Here's a third method to make it work:
-
Navigate to my user data folder – Users/*your user name*>/AppData/Roaming/Skype and deleted all the old temp files and a file called "shared.xml". Your Skype should be in a working state after these steps.
I'm glad I could help you.
