In what aspect would it be possible to hold the software producers liable for their software products released to the public when those products are considered like books are, regardless of the physical or economic harm that may results from using it?

Software producers be liable for their products?
It would be really hard to find something to make a software producer liable for anything since they are usually protected by their user agreement (which when you buy the software, you automatically agree upon.). Plus there are agencies (for example ESRB for games) that control all products (ofcourse this does not include BETA products since this types are usually "try at your own risk")that are introduced to the public to avoid instances where a software can be considered harmful. You can take the game Grand theft auto as an example, it was rank the most controversial game on the Guinness World Records 2008 and 2009 Gamer's Edition with several law suits filled against the publisher, all of which was dismissed.
