Hello to you all! I need to use my webcam as a nanny cam (concealed camera). Am I right in guessing that there are downloadable programs that could help me achieve this? Does anyone know of such software that can be used to convert a webcam into a nanny cam? If you are aware of such a software please let me know. Thank you in advance.
Software for turning a webcam into a Nanny Cam or Concealed Cam
The first step to conversion of a webcam into a nanny cam will be to have a computer that has Internet access. The computer should be having at least a 500 GB hard drive. Other things that it should have are the following:
-
A DVD burner drive
-
A wireless router that is hooked up to an Internet connection
-
A webcam
-
And last but not least a software that will allow it to record.
In most cases that software that allows for recording comes with the webcam. What happens is that the camera will broadcast to an Internet address which can be easily accessed through any Internet browser. The designated a folder that resides on your hard drive will be used as the video recording folder and it should have the camera record to it.
Once you have all that, you can then archive your surveillance video by burning it to DVD by use of the computer's DVD burning drive.

You will also need a DVD burner drive as well as a wireless router that is hooked up to internet connection.

Note that you will need a webcam as well as the software necessary in order to do the recording. This software comes with the webcam in most cases.

You can set aside a folder on your computer as a video recording folder and then let the camera record to it.
