The “BUGCODE_NDIS_DRIVER” error code is a blue screen error that normally appears during the initialization process of the operating system or Microsoft Windows. This means it can occur when Windows is loading a defective driver like for a network adapter and the most common device that can usually trigger this error is the Wi-Fi adapter on Windows 10.

If you encounter this error, first thing to do is make sure your operating system is updated by downloading the latest Windows 10 patches. If this doesn’t work, next step is update the drivers on your computer especially the driver for the Wi-Fi adapter. Download the latest drivers from the following manufacturers if your device is from one of these:

If this doesn’t work, uninstall the driver software for your Wi-Fi adapter. If this is not an option, try rolling back the driver. On Windows 10, press the Windows key + X to open the power user menu then select “Device Manager”. In “Device Manager” window, locate your Wi-Fi adapter then double-click it to open the “Properties”.

In the properties window, go to “Driver” tab then click the “Roll Back Driver” button and then follow the instructions. Restart the computer when it is finished. On the other hand, if you cannot roll back the driver, try doing it in Safe Mode. Click “Start”, “Settings”, “Update & Security” then “Recovery”.

Under “Advanced startup”, select “Restart now”. After booting, in “Choose an option” screen, select “Troubleshoot”, “Advanced options”, “Startup Settings”, “Restart” then after booting press 5 on your keyboard to select “Enable Safe Mode with Networking”. After booting in Safe Mode, try rolling back the driver again.
