Sony bravia not detecting external storage

I just got myself a Sony Bravia Tv. I am very satisfied with it. I am facing a problem though when I am connecting an external hard drive to it for media streaming. The hard drive is not being detected. I have tried to connect other media devices such as a USB pendrive and a camera to no avail. How can I fix this issue? Should I return the T.V?

Sony bravia not detecting external storage

HELLO

 

I will explain that how to connect the external device to the Sony Bravia TV.

There are following steps to connect the external device or USB to the Sony Bravia TV.

First, You need to connect or make the connection external device to TV.

After made the connection, You need to turn on the external device or USB.

 

 

After that press Home button, Then you need to select the media using "-><-"Buttons.

 

 

 

 

Then you need to select picture, Music, or Video using up and down arrow.

 

 

 

 

Then you need to select the USB file which is you want to play up and down arrow.

Then play start.

Now you can watch the particular file in your external device.
