Sound for AVG Internet Security

Like with older versions of the Opera browser where it allows customization of different sounds for different tasks, this feature is now available in AVG Internet Security 2013. This feature can be enabled or disabled by the user and can be used to play different sound effects for different tasks or events in the antivirus.

To customize the sound settings of the antivirus, go to Advanced Settings and then select Sounds. Check “Enable sound events [this option is defined per user]” to activate the sound feature. You may also check “Do not play sounds when fullscreen application is active” to prevent it from playing a sound when a program is running in full screen. See image.

To add a sound to a task or event, in the Sound settings interface, click an event then browse for the media you want to play under File. Click Apply and then OK to apply the new settings. Available events where you can add sounds are:

• Scan started
• Scan finished
• Scan finished with a threat found
• Resident Shield alert
• Online Shield alert
• Update started
• Update finished
• Update failed
