While I searching for Rain Code I found this book is full on “DirectX” gaming guide.
You will learn lots of codes for making games.
DirectX doesn't have much applications. But the link below has the codes on how to use DirectX for advanced 2D graphics for making rain effects. You can alter the water drop count and it has the FPS counter to know the performance. You need a 3D-card or you can make a reference but it will be slow. The code is in ZIP format to its size.
