Spam E-mail – possibly trojans

I seem to have a virus in my computer. Three friends of mine told me that I have sent them e-mails with titles like „0dg47 I9vhnhy” or „kehboq t0yok”. Those mails link towards the sites pictures-photos dot ru/img/zqqe dot html (first one) or reklama-v-tule dot ru/imgwqqr dot html(second one).

One of those friends told me that I might have a virus in the computer. After I have scanned it I was surprised not to find anything. I don't usually open spam mails or e-mails that have weird titles like the ones above. Do you have any suggestions how I could stop spamming my friends ?

It might be that your email account has been compromised. If you are still able to access your email account, change it immediately. But before you do that, you need to change first all security related information of your email account. If the intruder had gained access to your email account, he might not block you yet but he probably had able to change some or all of the security information so he could still gain access and use your email account for spamming or any malicious acts. For example, the alternate email address you set up during signup. If you request for a password change, the email system would send the new password to the alternate email address. So, if he had changed it already without your knowing, you won't get the new password but he does.

Maybe you received and opened an email from somebody whom you do not know. If you noticed some messages that were sent to you that contain a website address or sometimes there is nothing in it, these messages are caused by bots. These bots are written or coded right into the messages that you received and are made hidden. They are in a form of a java script. These bots act on their own based on the instructions written in their code. They can penetrate your email account by just opening an unknown message. The bot then crawls into your account and into your contacts. It will use your account to send spam messages to all the email addresses on your contacts list.

I don’t know if the bot can get the password that you used but it’s best to change immediately the password you are using if you noticed some messages are popping up in your inbox that contains odd messages or website addresses.
