I have a trouble with my new Laptop, it has  a DM4 Pavilion – Win 7 Home premium installed. Each two minutes the screens pop up saying, "You have a security problem" and endeavor to sell me virus defense software.
I can’t play my music or watch Movies because it pop ups with an awful sound. I have Norton Antivirus previously Installed, but it didn’t detect that issue. I cannot uninstall that popup message or disable it. Â
Does anyone have any idea about this issue? I do not want to re-install windows 7. How can I solve this issue? Â
Spyware saying I have a security problem on Windows 7
Hi,
I have encountered some issues that are the same as your problem, with that pop up window. The pop up window that is trying to sell you a virus protection, is considered as a 'Spyware' and here are the steps on how to get rid of it:
-
Open 'Internet Explorer' on the address bar or the http bar at the top.
-
Type: Malwarebytes.org and then hit ENTER.
-
Click on the link for downloading it and install it on the computer.
-
Once its done installing, you will see an icon of it on the desktop screen, we need to open it up and look for 'full scan' and click it  ; this will scan the computer for 30 mins – 45 mins, depending on the volume of programs installed on the computer.
-
Once its done scanning the computer, you will see all the viruses and Spyware that are detected on the computer .
-
Delete everything and restart the computer.
-
The pop up window will no longer appear on the computer.
Note: I Â suggest you install Microsoft PC security on the computer, as your virus protection but if you are paying for Norton virus protection, you can call them and inform them that you have their software installed but you keep getting Spyware on the computer, so they can fix it. (800-927-3991).
Spyware saying I have a security problem on Windows 7
Hi,
I have some other information and solutions that might help you resolve the problem.
You can also use your Norton Security to scan the computer from Viruses and check if it's still working. Since you have this pop up, that simply means that the Norton protection did not detect the Spyware infecting the computer.
Check for updates with the Norton security or through the website of Norton. We need to remember that the virus protection on the computer needs to have updates in order for it to protect the computer from new viruses that's evolving nowadays.
For the Norton protection that you're using, it has an automatic update that pops up at the lower right side of the screen. You just need to click it and start the updates of Norton. Same goes with the other virus protections installed on the computer.
If there are no updates opening up on the computer, you need to contact the vendor of the virus protection so that they can give you updates and help you install it on the computer.
