Startup updating of AVG antivirus pro

Hi everyone,

I have installed AVG anti virus pro on my computer. When my windows is starting antivirus automatically starts updating which slows down my computer startup. Please tell me if it is possible to stop this automatic updating and later on it can be done manually?

Startup updating of AVG antivirus pro

Hello Julia T Kring,

To disable automatic updates in your AVG antivirus follow the steps below :

Virus Database Update Shedule

Open AVG > click Tools > go to the Advanced Settings > expand Schedules > click Definitions Update Schedule > uncheck the Enable This Task box.

Program Update Schedule

Open AVG > click Tools > go to the Advanced Settings > expand Schedules > click Program Update Schedule > uncheck Enable This Task box.

To update manually open AVG interface and click Update Now button. However, it is recommended to keep updates enabled because latest updates will keep your system free from new virus and malicious germs. Otherwise use the manual update of your antivirus frequently.
