- In the Administrative Tools, go to Windows Server Backup.
- Click on Recover in the Actions pane. The Recovery Wizard will open.
- On the first page, do one of the following things:
- Click on ‘This server.’
- Click on ‘Another Server’ and specify the Location Type. Select one of the two: Local Drives or Remote Shared Folder.
Then click ‘Next.’
- In the ‘Select Backup Date,’ choose the date and time that you want to restore on. Then click ‘Next.’
- Select ‘System State’ in the ‘Select Recovery Type.’
- Now choose a location in the ‘Select Location for System Recovery’ from one of these:
- ‘Original Location’
- ‘Alternate Location.’ Browse the path for the location.
Then click ‘Next.’
- On the final page, Review the details and then select ‘Recover’ option to restore.
Another method is to recover using a command line:
- Open the ‘Command Prompt’ with ‘Run as Administrator’ type.
- In the command prompt type: ‘wbadmin start systemstaterecovery -version:*DATE* -*TIME* -backupTarget:*STORED_REMOTE_FOLDER*’
