Symantec Anti-Virus Installation Error 1714
Unfortunately, for that case, you would have to uninstall the Symantec Antivirus. Uninstalling could be very tricky since that is actually the primary problem of this issue. To uninstall the antivirus, you can download the MSI removal software and remove the Symantec antivirus in your system. That usually works but if it still doesn't, you would have to install Cleanwipe, however, you would need to get in touch with support to get this software. On the positive side, Cleanwipe can also work on other problems similar to this one you're having. On a worst case scenario, you would have to manually uninstall the software by following instructions you can find  in the official Symantec site.
Symantec Anti-Virus Installation Error 1714
Hello Janet,
The error that you are getting is possibly due to connection problems. If you are installing the Symantec Antivirus on your computer from a remote location, you will need to make sure that the connection between your computer and then remote location is not broken when the antivirus is installing. So check the following:
-
Check to make sure that all cables on the network are connected properly and that you can have access to the remote computer. If possible, take the Symantec Antivirus setup and then copy it to you PC and then process with the installation.
-
If you are connecting to the remote computer wirelessly, you will need to ensure that the internet connection is stable, as well as the network connection when the antivirus is installing.
Regards,
Carl
