Symantec AntiVirus – Internal Error 2318

Internal Error 2318. C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataSymantecSymantec Antivirus Corporate Edition7.5APTempAP1.htm

While I tried to uninstall/remove ‘Symantec Antivirus’ from my add or remove programs of my computer, I failed to remove the program completely. While doing so the Error 2318 appeared.

Use of ‘ccleaner’ too failed to help me in this purpose. Although the logs shows that there a series of files are removed.

I can’t guess what I should do to remove the said program.

Please help.

Symantec AntiVirus – Internal Error 2318

Hi John!

Uninstalling antivirus programs by Symantec or Norton is truly a headache based on my experience. Here are methods that I suggest you can do to resolve the issue.

1. Restart the computer and uninstall again.
2. Download the Norton Removal Tool from the Norton Symantec official website. Here is the download link: https://support.symantec.com/en_US.html. Install the program to properly uninstall the antivirus.
3. If you still can’t uninstall the antivirus, run Norton Removal Tool as an administrator.
