I have had a Symantec Antivirus for Mac version 10.2 for years already and never had a problem at all. When I run LiveUpdate I get an error message "Updating error: There was an error performing the update." Any suggestions for this kind of issue?
Thank you in advance!
Symantec for Mac: Updating error using LiveUpdate
Hi,
I can help you fix the error message with Symantec Antivirus on your Mac operating system. I suggest you to perform these troubleshooting steps:
-
Make sure your computer’s date and time is correctly set. When the date and time is wrong, Symantec will not download any definitions.
-
Update the Java on your Mac computer. The Live Update version in Mac is a Java based application.
-
If you have Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later, try upgrading the Antivirus to the latest version.
-
Check your Proxy settings.
This should fix the issue on your Mac computer. Just in case if the issue does not get fixed, try reinstalling the Symantec Antivirus on your Mac operating system. Alternatively, you can contact the Symantec Support. You can visit:
