Hi,
I have just turned on my computer now and I have found an error message that says, “HAL.DLL Corrupted “. Â
Â
It is  not allowing me to boot inside the operating system. I have tried inserting the Operating system disk to run a repair install but still it didn’t work out. Then I have also updated the BIOS. Still no go. Â
Â
So, I felt that I could consult some expert over here to help me solve this problem.
System Does not allows to boot in
Â
For this problem, it’s great that you are already aware of the Windows Recovery Console, since it helps me to explain directly the steps for fixing this HAL.DLL corrupted problem.
Â
Kindly insert the Windows XP Disk onto the Drive and then boot into the recovery Console.
Â
Once when you are inside the recovery console, Inside the window type in As (Attrib –H –R –S) without brackets and then hit enter. This we do in order to Display all the Hidden files.
Â
Once the above mentioned step is done. Delete the boot.ini file using the command (del c:boot.ini). This should be typed without brackets. After that type in as boot.cfgrebuild, in order to rebuild the Boot.ini file and then press Y to say Yes to proceed. After this, it may ask you to enter the Load Identifier where you need to enter the Version of your Operating system, whether it is Windows XP Professional or Home Edition. After that just type in as /fastdetect.
Â
Now enter the command Fix boot, which may add new partition boot sectors to the boot drives. Where it helps to enable the successful recovery from the problem.
Â
So the above mentioned is one of the popular method of troubleshooting this kind of Boot.ini, HAL.DLL and NTLDR missing problems.
Â
At the end of the process, make sure you re-hide the boot.ini files, using the command (Attrib +H +R +S). Type in without brackets. This need to be re-hidden for security reasons as recommended in a Microsoft Article.
Â
Finally the problem would have been solved. Make sure you install a complete protection to your system by an Antivirus where some times, some Virus files may also have chances to disturb these kind of system files and they finally become a total mess-up like this.
Â
Good Day. Enjoy Computing.
