I am a computer professional. I am currently using the Windows operating system on my PC. Recently, I have encountered an error 14001 side-by-side configuration is incorrectfor your computer. Please help.

This error is generated by an exception handler. It arises due to incorrect parsing of the XML data. Please also put the trace or the log file along with your question. You can rectify the error from any of the methods given below.
- Make sure the syntax of the XML data is correct. Make sure there are no missing opening or closing tags. Make sure all XML tags are identified during the parsing.
- Use the sxstrace.exe tool. The tool will give you the exact trace of the error in XML format. You can then check this data for parsing errors. Remember to run the sxstrace.exe application in trace mode.

To fix the problem, download and install the following Microsoft Visual C++ update according to your platform architecture:
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package for x86 – for 32-bit Microsoft Windows. It supports Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2.
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package for x64 – for 64-bit Microsoft Windows. It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2.
