Hey, the systems requirements for raid 5 configuration step by step must have at least 3 dries for creating the RAID 5. Also adding one more disk will not affect anything to it. It will also need the dedicated hardware controllers with the various multi ports too. Below shows the steps for the same:
• First you need to install the mdadm and verify the same driver tool
• Next try partitioning the disks for the RAID
• Next make/ create the md file device of md0
• Next create the file systems for the md0
• Later save the RAID 5 configurations manually.
• Lastly, keep adding the spared drives if any.
