System Restore did not complete successfully 0x80070005

Hi Expert friends,

Accidently I crashed my system; I didn’t opt to do that. When I try to do the system restore, I ended up with an error message. I am not able to continue with the system restore, the error message states that I need to check the anti-virus program in the computer. Then I tried with a different restore point even that is not working. Please help. Thanks.

Details:

System Restore could not access a file. This is probably because an anti-virus program is running on the computer. Temporary disable your antivirus program and An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. 0x80070005).

System Restore did not complete successfully 0x80070005

Open the windows into safe mode. In order to open window in safe mode (Windows 7, XP or Vista) perform a re-start and start tapping the F8 key as soon as the logo appears. This will open the Windows Advanced Options screen (screen shot given below). If you see the Windows logo, it means you did not start pressing the F8 button soon enough and will need to reboot and try again. Ensure that you select the safe mode (only) to start the window. This will open the Windows with minimal driver and no internet connection. Perform system restore to specific point from this mode.
