You can solve your problem in following ways.
- Make sure you are using TV ‘host’ on the remote computer.
- Make sure you are filling the right username and password.
- Make sure the computer’s firewall is not blocking Team Viewer and letting it use the internet.
- Temporarily disable your antivirus and attempt to connect.
- If there is any update pending for the software, please do it. Try reinstalling the software.
- Make sure you are not using any proxy for internet connected.
- Try to run the software as ‘administrator.’

That error simply means the TeamViewer application is not running on the other computer preventing your computer from establishing connection to the other machine. If you want to connect to the other computer using TeamViewer, the TeamViewer application should be running on both computers. So, to fix the problem, go to the other machine and launch TeamViewer.
After this, go back to your computer and try connecting again to the other computer from TeamViewer. If you haven’t updated yet to the latest version, go to Download TeamViewer and download the latest version. The latest at the moment is TeamViewer 12. You can also download the portable version from TeamViewer Portable.
