I have recently downloaded Lync software from Microsoft because someone told me it is an exceptional software for chatting, along with some business features. All god until now, the software is good and easy to use, but I have encountered only one problem. I don't exactly know how to be invisible in Lync and what is the option for that. I have searched online for some answers, but I found nothing. Thank you in advance for your help.
Tell me how to be invisible in Lync Software
Hello Susan,
By default, you would be visible on Lync. For you to appear invisible, you have to make some changes to the default settings on your Lync Server Management Shell.
Once you open the Lync Server Management Shell, type in Get-CsClientPolicy. This command shows you all the clients' policies.
Take note of the "EnableAppearOffline" which by default have been disabled. This is the reason you are visible whenever you are using Lync.
You have to set up a new policy and a test user before you apply it to your contacts. This enables you to know if you have become invisible to your test user. To set up this command using "offlineOn" as an example, type New-CsClientPolicy-Identity Tag:OfflineOn-EnableAppearOffline $ True-Description""
You are now set to grant your new policy to your selected user. The Cmdlet for this is Get-CsUser-Identity name| Grant-CsClientPolicy-PolicyName OfflineOn
The Identity name is the user you want to connect with when you are invisible.
Check the previous command and you will notice that the Identity name you entered have a newly created client policy Offline On. You can now restart your Lync and have a fun filled experience.
