Hello

I found only one software which covers your needs, it's called GnuCash and you can find it here: http://www.gnucash.org/

It's open source application and widely used on Ubuntu. Also you can find more information about new updates on site I provided. If you don't want to mess around with debian packages, then you can find this application on ubuntu software center and install it from there.

Dear Achan.
Ubuntu is a world of mostly free support. I bear in mind that for every commercial software, there is an open source alternative. Though it may not be as best as the commercial version.
You wanted a free finance software. In  Ubuntu we have the following:
• GnuCash- Its free and uses double entry accounting .
• Skrooge
• WebERP
• Phreebooks
• Eqonomize- I like this as it is quite personal ,and also provides double entry book keeping.

Hi Dudley,

Yes, there are several free / open source financial tools available for Ubuntu users.

The most popular is the GnuCash, which you can install by all options: from source file, from package or from the command line. I’d recommend you to visit this site where you will find more and chose one that best suits your needs.

Hope this will help you.

Fabulous comment, guys, and I am grateful for your valuable information. Of all the helpful tips I received, I found White wayyne's advice most valuable. He provided me with many free finance software sites in Ubuntu, of which I liked GnuCash best of all. Really, it is a very helpful site for personal and small business financial accounting software. It's designed to be easy to use, yet powerful and flexible. It allows me to track bank accounts, stocks, income, and expenses. It's really super and fulfilled all my expectations. Thanks once more, guy!
