Hallo people!

I have Windows service pack 2 running on my computer though it has been giving me problems. There are times it does not fully start but keeps on restarting whenever it is powered on. Is there a Microsoft Hotfix SP2 full that I can use to fix these errors? Thanks big time for your assistance.

I would recommend you hotfix: KB914450.

Information about this hotifx:

For windows XP

1.Search the file "WindowsXP-KB914450-v2-x86-ENU.exe"
2.Download this file and extract fixccs.exe from it.
3.Before you can extract the fixcss.exe, make sure you've moved "WindowsXP-KB914450-v2-x86-ENU.exe " to c:
4.Goto Start > Run > Type in "c:WindowsXP-KB914450-v2-x86-ENU.exe /x" without the quotes.
5.Look in the folder name you have chosen during extract. There you will find "fixccs.exe". Run fixcss.exe.
6.Restart your PC and your devices will be viewable.

Hi Harvey,

I suppose you cannot install any software from the PC since it restarts continuously.

The problem in this case I believe it is not with the OS but mostly with a corrupted boot partition.

Try the following :

1. Place the original windows XP CD in the CD tray.

2. Start your PC

3. Enter into recovery Console

4. Enter command fixboot (drive:) .

Example : fixboot C: (if C is the partition where windows XP is installed)

Then let the PC handle the rest.

When it is finished restart your PC and should work like e charm.

Cheers,

Frazier
