Is there more to Microsoft Office 2010 and office starter 2010?
Hey Twine,
Office 2010 is classified in to different suites depending on the applications and the users to which they are intended. You can choose the appropriate suite depending on your usage.
Office Starter 2010 usually come as pre-installed software and it includes only limited functionality version of Word and Excel. An Office software that come pre-installed on the computer (OEM version) are non-transferrable. They live and die with the computer. That is, Office Starter 2010 can be obtained only along with the computer and cannot be transferred to any other computer.

Microsoft office starter 2010 is a simplified, reduced functionality version of Ms Word Starter 2010 and Ms Excel Starter 2010 with advertising. It does not contain Power Point, Access or any other MS office applications. It’s preloaded and ready to be used on any windows platform higher than windows XP.
There is a special feature that enables you to create a device that can run office Starter on another PC. The other major difference is Ms Office Starter interface includes display advertising and is not trail software. User can continue using it as long as he/she satisfied with it. If User wants more features, he/she can upgrade to office 2010 by clicking Purchase on the Home tab on the ribbon.
