Hi,

Is there a way I can reset all my services to defaults? Some time back I disabled or stopped a lot of services. Now I feel like resetting all services back to defaults. Is there any command I can use to reset all my Vista and Windows XP services in my systems?

Would be helpful if any advice is given.

Thank you.

You can easily restore your default Windows services settings, by performing a system restore on you computer.

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows XP, you access “System Restore” from “All Programs” > “Accessories” > “System Tools” > “System Restore”. Choose a system restore point before you have made changes on Windows Services.

If you are not sure whether you have made changes to a certain date, you can manually set the default settings for Windows XP by referring to this link. For Windows Vista users, you can refer to this link for restoring default services.
As you can see, it is much easier when you perform a system restore rather than doing it manually.
These methods are much safer than using a third party application you’ll never know if it has a virus or Malware that may damage your computer system.

Hi,

System restore is a feature that does a system recovery & creates snapshots. It restores the state of your computer, back to when you were taken.

Since you disabled some services functions and you feel that doing a reset back to its original settings is good for you, follow the steps below :
  • You may need to close all Windows application that are open.
  • Go to Start button at the lower left.
  • Then click on All Programs.
  • Select Accessories in the menu bar.
  • Go to System Tools.
  • And click on System Restore and click Continue button.
This feature is used to enable your computer to operate properly. Once you discover something in your computer that can't be resolved normally, you can do the steps above and follow the shots below for reference.
