Send Message Error
Sending of message failed.
The message could not be sent because connecting to SMTP server. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your SMTP server setting is correct and try again, or else contact your network administrator.

Thunderbird failed to send mail
Hi Ambercart,
You're question below is this:
Hi, Just this morning when I am about to send an email using Thunderbird, I received an error message that the message cannot be sent, as I checked my internet there is no problem with it, I am now wondering what else should I checked, please help me guys, thanks.
Thunderbird is a very good type of email software. I use it myself at home. Error message pop-up if it encounter a problem with the settings, specially if SMTP isn evolved. This error message pop-up if authentication method requires a password.
Different Internet Service Provider uses different settings for sending or SMTP. Let's say, Verizon DLS uses password when sending which means, it needs to authenticate before they allow message to use there networks. Road Runner Internet does not require to authenticate messages so long as you are using their network.
Here's the tip to solved this issue
-
Identify the settings of you're ISP for SMTP. Ask if authentication is require for sending
-
If it requires to authenticate when sending, follow the steps below
Go to Tools, Account Settings, Outgoing Server – SMTP (lower left side), Edit the account and in the Authentication Method, ask you're ISP what to select. As this varies on who you're Internet Service Provider uses the settings.
Identify also the what port number to use, by default it should be 587 but some uses 25.
