Hey Experts,

I would like to ask something about Time synchronization in a server. I have noticed that on most of our computers doesn't have time in sync. In addition, some are the same, but would differ in seconds.

I have two test computers, synchronized, but come after a few days, both are not in sync.

How can I make them show the same time?

Thanks.

Time synchronization in Windows 2003 Server

Hi Alex,

Please follow the following steps to configure your PDC emulator to receive accurate time from valid source.log on to the domain controllers. Go to the command line and type

 W32tm /config /manualpeerlist :< timeserver> /syncfromflags: manual

Enter the following command in order to update windows time service configuration

Net stop w32timeNet start w32time

However if a system isn’t a member of a domain then manually configure and to synchronize with a specific source by using the following steps

Go to Start | Control Panel, and double-click Date and Time.

On the Internet Time tab, select a time server from the list, or input DNS name of your network's internal time source.

Click Update Now, click Apply, and click OK. In doing these ensure that your network allows UDPport 123 to and from systems to the selected time source.

Hope it helps.
