Transcend USB Drive not detecting !

Hello there,

I bought a Pen Drive ( Transcend ) and it was working fine . But one day it just stopped working on my Windows , but its detecting on my Ubuntu 10.04 . Its not detecting in windows ! Please Help me on how can I get it back on my Windows ? Thanks in advance .

Transcend USB Drive not detecting !

The Pen Drive (transcend) may have a malfunction along the port. Remove the Pen drive and try to restart the computer or laptop, then insert the Pen Drive again. Check If  it works fine and try to put anti-virus on the Computer or Laptop to make sure that there won't be any malicious files or virus in your computer. If you did what I do, then the problem is there, better replace it as soon as possible because it has a one (1) week warranty for the Pen Drive (transcend).Sometimes there are usb drives that function good in the first day but it goes bad or worst 2 days after purchased. So it is better to replace it very soon. I hope I cover the answer well or a bit. That is much of what I knew lately.

Transcend USB Drive not detecting !

Hello,

                You can fix this problem by following below steps.

1.       Click on Start button and go to Run and type “compmgmt.msc”, you will able to see a window that called computer management.

2.       Right side of the window you can see a line with named  “Disk Management”, if you click on it disk management window will appear.

3.       On that window you can see some drives including portable drive. Right click on it and click on  “Change drive letter and paths”.

4.       Now you can assign a new drive letter.

Note: The drive letter which is  not being  used by any local drives in “My computer”.

 

After assigning the new drive letter , your portable drive will show up in my computer with other drives.
