Transfer speeds to my WD cloud are slow

Hi guys, I recently bought a WD My Cloud 2TB for streaming and backups. I also have another 750GB external plugged into the back to transfer my files over and they are both mapped in my computer. With all this am still experiencing extremely slow transfer speeds that is from 5-6mb/s. I have tried using the My Cloud desktop app but it keeps on crashing or stopping. Any ideas?

Transfer speeds to my WD cloud are slow

Below are a list of things that you can try to get the transfer rate faster:

1. Make sure that you have a Gigabit Ethernet adapter in the computer. 
2. Use a pc/laptop that has a Gigabit Ethernet capability
3. Upgrade your switch to a Gigabit Ethernet switch. You can connect a 10/100 baseT router to a Gigabit Ethernet switch, just as long as all the Gigabit Ethernet devices are connected to this switch
4. Upgrade your router to a Gigabit Ethernet Router
5. Test your transfer rate with the antivirus and firewall disabled
6. Replaced old network cables with new CAT 5 or CAT 6 cables
