Trouble in accessing Orkut through the Internet Explorer
Hmm Brit as you are saying that you are using windows 2000 and also you are using internet explorer and all other pages are running fine except the ORKUT page so dear I will suggest you to first check the internet explorer settings.
May be that site is blocked mistakenly or may be no access to that site, well this thing is having very less probability to be occur , but the most probable thing is that in your PC the required plug-in are not installed in the system that you have, so it seems that due to unavailability of the plug-in and add-on this is happening.
I will suggest you to see the things when opening ORKUT on internet explorer , is it is asking anything regarding to install something or any update process for the plug-in installed so you should install them. Hopefully your matter will be soon solved.

Trouble in accessing Orkut through the Internet Explorer
Good day,
With your current issue, I suggest you to access the site once you close your browser first. If again, the same error happens please do optimize the browser. And with the most constant cure with this, please clear caches and cookies.
Upon clearing, open your browser again, hit the tools menu and proceeds to the internet options. Find the small pop up window and hit ''Delete Temporary History'' then right after it click the Ok button.
Now, you have to close your browser again and open another. See it if you'll be able to access to the said site.
Trouble in accessing Orkut through the Internet Explorer
Unfortunately, at the moment, there is no more Orkut. So, any users wanting to download their photos back to their computer is no longer possible. Orkut, named after its creator Orkut Büyükkökten, a former Google employee, was once a social media site owned and operated by Google. It was designed to help users meet new and old friends and keep existing relationships.
It was one of the most visited sites in Brazil and India in 2008. In 2008, Google announced that Orkut would be fully managed and operated by Google Brazil, in Brazil, in the city of Belo Horizonte. This was done because of the huge number of Brazilian users and the growth of legal issues.
Google announced in June 30, 2014 that it would be closing Orkut on September 30, 2014. From July 2014, no new accounts could be created. If you once have an account in Orkut, you can download your profile archive from Google Takeout.
