Trouble in using Windows Live Messenger
Good day Danny, I was just wondering if this issue is specifically isolated in one computer system.
I actually had an issue like this way back, and I was having a hard time figuring out what was wrong.
I would like to try and share some of the things that I did.
Try any of these steps.
-
Try to login to with your main account and see if you can, if it does then it’s not an authentication issue.
-
Try to login to windows live messenger on a different computer system.

If you are able to login on another system, then we can say that it’s with your computer system. So you might need to delete a registry key. (Be careful not to delete any other thing, deleting items in the registry can cause your system to crash or fail) To open the registry, click your start button, then select run. A small window will open, and type “regedit” in the field provided and press ok. You will see a 2-pane window, left and right. On the left pane, click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER. This will cause the category to expand. Look for Software, click on it. Under software, look for Microsoft and click on it. Under Microsoft, look for MSN Messenger and click on it. Lastly, under MSN Messenger, look for Policies click on it and then press the delete it. (Only Policies needs to be deleted)
Again, the registry key to be deleted is HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > MSN Messenger > Policies
