Hello,

The Microsoft Knowledge Base article KB836941 of 7/23/2008, I encountered temporary connection-related errors when I used Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates suggests several workarounds, none of which work for me under the VM. Clicking theGet help with this error link opens the following Offline Help window.

Troubleshoot problems with installing update

Hi Jonathan,

When you say connection related errors, I hope you have a stable internet connection to perform updates because Windows updates usually take a long period of time. In addition to this, verify the below points to resolve the error:

1. Check in the programs list if you have a program called Hide My IP installed. If so, uninstall this program and try to update.
2. Re-boot your machine in safe mode with networking and try to update
3. Disable the antivirus program completely for a few minutes and then proceed to update
