Turning regular TV into smart TV

I want to turn my TV into a smart TV. How can I achieve this objective taking in mind that I have a budget of $100 maximum? I heard that Chromecast is an option but it is limited to streaming. Is that true? If I manage to get android on my TV will I still benefit from updates from google?

Turning regular TV into smart TV

The device required to convert regular tv into smart tv are Chromecast, Roku Stick, WDTV Live, Apple TV etc. 

 

Well, there are several methods like:

 

1) Connect your TV with your computer, but for this your TV must have a VGA entry port or HDMI port. Simply connect your PC/Laptop form TV using a cable or HDMI wire.

 

2) Attach a tablet to your TV, you can go and buy one at a reasonable price and it usually consumes low power, most of them connect through the HDMI port.

 

3) Using console like the Xbox, PS4 also converts your device into Smart TV.
