Hi guys,
I am presently using Windows vista premium sp2. I want to install the VLC player version 1.1.11 on my system, but unfortunately, this simple task cannot be completed.
When I start the installation, I receive an error from my system. The error is:
"Unable to elevate. Error 6".
As soon as I enter my password, the above said error message pops up.
Can anyone please shed some light on this issue? I could not succeed in resolving this issue.
Looking forward to your help.
Regards.
Unable to elevate. Error 6 on VLC player version 1.1.11 Installation
Dear Muench don, I have read your query.
Please make sure if you have enough permissions to make changes to your computer. Do you have administrative privileges? If you are running your computer as Administrator, then it is very easy to fix this problem. Simplest way to resolve this problem is to run Application as an Administrator. To do so, Right click on the executable Application which you want to install, and then click on “Run as an Administrator”. Chances are that, you will not encounter this error.
However, you can also try disabling User Account Control (UAC) feature of Windows to get rid of this problem. To disable User Account Control, Click on Start Menu and select Run. Type MSCONFIG and System Configuration dialogue will appear. Click on Tools Tab and scroll down, select Disable UAP and Click Launch Button. Command Prompt will appear, when command finishes then close the window. Close everything and reboot, after reboot you will be able to install application.
Hope it will help.
