Hi Experts! I need help on Outlook 2007. All the exported contacts are not visible. I already exported all my contacts into a CSV file. I heard that one of the possible causes of this is when there are special characters included on my contacts, but I did not use any special characters so I don’t think that it is the main cause of the issue. How can I fix this? Is it possible to export Outlook contacts into a CSV file that will be visible? Please help. Thank you.
Unable to Export Outlook Contacts into a CSV File
Hello Moira!
To export your contacts into CSV file, you have to ensure that you already converted your contacts into a vCard file. To create a vCard, please follow the steps below:
-
Select the contact in the Contact folder. The contact you will select is the one that you intend to create a vCard.
-
Click Save As on the File menu.
-
When you are in the Save file as type prompt box, select VCARD files (*.vcf)
-
And then, select the folder to where you want to save your vCard and then hit Save.
This will create a vCard file with the same name as your contact.
To distribute a vCard:
This method is the same as we distribute any files.
-
Create a new message and add a recipient where you want to send your vCard.
-
Click File on the Insert menu.
-
Select the vCard or the .vcf file and then hit OK.
-OR-
Comma Separated Value (CSV) is one of the most common export file format that we used in Outlook. To export contacts successfully, I will recommend you to choose a .pst file. Please continue reading below to learn more about how to export your contacts.
-
To open the Outlook Options, click the File tab>Options>Advanced.
-
Click Export under Export.
-
Under the Import and Export Wizard, click the Export to a file and then Next.
-
In the Create a file of type, click the type of export that you want and then Next.
-
On the Select folder to export from, select the folder that you want to export and then Next.
-
On the Save exported file as, click Browse and then select where you want to save it. Then type a name of your file in the File name box.
-
Click OK.
-
Under the Export to a File box, hit Next and then click Finish.
I hope this solution can be able to help you. Good luck!
