Hello,

I just got this error message when tried to add a package to my Group Policy for Software Installation. I have spent enough time to resolve this error and could not get any solution to fix it properly. I am looking for an expert’s advice and expecting to get a best solution to remove this error permanently. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am running Windows XP SP3. Thanks in advance.

If you are using Windows XP Service Pack 3 then there should be no problem. LibreOffice 4.0.1 supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. In your case, it sounds like the problem is coming from the MSI file that the program will be using. The MSI file might be corrupted that’s why the package can’t be validated.

Try reinstalling LibreOffice and see what happens. Uninstall LibreOffice and then install it back but make sure you still have its installer before you uninstall it. If a somewhat similar error appears during the installation then your installer is already damaged. It would be best to just upgrade it instead of installing the same version.

Try LibreOffice 4.1.1. LibreOffice is the office suite counterpart of Microsoft Office. It is officially designed for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Among the included applications are Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math, and Base. Writer is the word processor similar to Microsoft Office Word and supports WordPerfect and Microsoft Office Word.

Calc is the spreadsheet program just like Microsoft Office Excel or Lotus 1-2-3. Impress is the presentation application like Microsoft Office PowerPoint. Draw is the vector graphics editor like Microsoft Office Visio Viewer. Math is designed for creating and editing mathematical formulae. Base is the database management program similar to Microsoft Office Access.
