Whenever I inserted any removable disk on my PC, I could not open it. Windows is always telling me to format it but when trying to format, an error occurred stating that “Windows is unable to format disk”. How can I format without getting this error message? Is there any other way that I can format aside from clicking on the My Computer folder and right-click it to format?
Please send me some advices.
Thanks.

Hello.
Your removable disk might have been malfunctioned. Well, there are several ways of formatting the pen drive. Follow the below steps to format the pen drive in command prompt:
1. Open command prompt with administrative rights.
2. To do so right click on cmd and select run as administrator.
3. In the command prompt type “cd..” and press enter to come in to the c directory.
4. Type cd.. Until the directory shows c:
5. Then type format and your pen drive letter followed by semicolon.
6. Example format E: and wait for the process to continue.
7. Be patience as it may take some time.
Thank you.
Unable to format any removable disk
Hi!
Try to check your computer if it has any virus. Usually viruses are the cause of these errors. Also, try to format your thumb drive on other computer. If it works, then your USB drive has a problem. Try formatting your Pc. Then check if works this time.
Thanks.
