I am running Windows XP 32-Bit and I am the Administrator of this computer.Â
The problem is when I tried to install a laptop printer, I always get an error.
I know that Windows XP doesn’t check for any rights before starting any installation. And maybe that is the reason for this error.
But how can I fix this? Help me please.
Installation failed.
The installation failed. A detailed log has been written to ControllerLog.txt. Select here to open the folder in Explorer.
Unable to install laptop printer on Windows XP
You must have included a screen shot of that controllerlog.txt file for a better view. The log file must have something important to help resolve the issue. Now I would suggest few things in order to solve your issue.
-
Try downloading the latest drivers from the manufacture website. Note down the printer model and download the respective driver from the website.
-
Update all other drivers in your computer.
-
Re install the windows xp. There might be a corrupted number of files that is causing the issue.
-
Use Cclleaner to clean up all the extra registries from your computer.
-
If you still got the error than there is no way other than to contact your vendor to provide the desired driver for the printer.
