Unable to locate component: sfc_os.dll was not found on Vipre Antivirus

Hello all

I have recently installed the Vipre antivirus, and it was installed successfully but now it is not working. When I try to run the SBAMsvc.exe from the viper directory, an error pops up on my screen. The screenshot of the error is attached below:

The error says:

SBAMSvc.exe – Unable to Locate Component

The application has failed to start because sfc_os.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem.

If anyone has any idea what is creating this problem, please do let me know. Your answers are anxiously awaited.

Hi James!

Here is a list of actions that you can do to fix the error:

1. Disable sbamxvc.exe from the Windows Task Manager.
2. Re-register associated .dll files of Sbamsvc.exe by running Command Prompt, typing regsvr32 gkh.dll, and pressing enter to confirm the modification.
3. Replace Sbamsvc.exe with a compatible version downloaded from the internet.
4. Reinstall Vipre Antivirus.
5. Fix the registry (http://www.dlltool.com/help/fix-dll/extension-dll/sfc_os/).
