Hello! I just bought the newest Samsung Galaxy S3. But the problem I have encountered is I can’t seem to open a PDF file on my phone. And other Office files as well. Is this feature available on S3? Or do I need to use any software or application for this to get work? Please send me some advice. Thanks.
Unable to open PDF file on Galaxy S3
Hi,
PDF viewer and MS Office files viewer are not built in features of Samsung Galaxy SIII. In order to view these files, you should download it from Android Store. Adobe PDF Viewer is free to download for Android. On the other hand, you might need to find a good and free software for viewing or editing MS Office files, if you are willing to pay, you may purchase it directly from Microsoft.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
Unable to open PDF file on Galaxy S3
Hello William
It really is weird that your Samsung Galaxy S3 doesn’t have an application installed for you to read PDF formats.
I have the same phone, and it came with Polaris Viewer 4.1 installed. And it is a great application for many document formats (.doc .docx .xls .pdf)
I recommend it to you as well. It is free and very easy to use.
You can download it from here Polaris Viewer
And just send it to your device.
Hope you will find this information useful.

Unable to open PDF file on Galaxy S3
My sister is also using a Samsung Galaxy handset but unfortunately her Samsung Galaxy S3 mini also doesn’t have a PDF reader installed and I think it really doesn’t come with this application. But anyway, here are several PDF readers that you can install on your Android-powered Samsung Galaxy S3 so you can open PDF files on your handset.
- Adobe Reader – this is the same with the Adobe Reader you install on your computer and this is the Android version. This is also free like the usual Adobe Reader you download from Adobe website. You can download the latest version 10.6.1 from Google play – Adobe Reader.
- RepliGo PDF Reader – this PDF reader allows you to view, annotate, print, and fill form. With this PDF reader you can review different documents while on the go and add highlights, underlines, cross outs, sticky notes, ovals, rectangles, arrows, text boxes, and freehand drawings. But unfortunately, this is not free. To know more, visit RepliGo PDF Reader.
- PDF Reader – here’s another PDF reader which is actually a book and document reader that is integrated only with a PDF reader. It features the read mode and the control mode where you can switch by doing a single tap. You can search for texts in book, browse table of contents and it also features night mode. To download, visit Google play – PDF Reader.
