Hello!
I have this problem with my iPad. I am subscribed to the tablet edition of Vanity Fair and I was trying to view it. I clicked on the button that said “Tap here for access to the tablet edition. ” After clicking, I would be redirected to a different page and then an error message saying “Cannot open page. The page cannot be opened because of an error. ” Apparently, this error was Error 1004: Could not connect to server.
The strange thing is I could connect via WiFi and surf the Internet using Safari. I tried deleting and then reinstalling via iTunes on my Mac, and yet nothing seems to work. Do any of you have an idea with what’s going on? I would really appreciate any kind of help.
Thank you.

Unable to open tablet edition of a website on iPad
Joan_Spalding
After your post I also tried to connect to the same site with my Ipad with the same error.
On contacting the Vanity Fair admin, I received the following response, which confirms that there is NO issue with your Ipad or its O/S; rather it’s an issue with the VF.
I will quote their response here:

This means we have to wait for vanity fair to provide the update, and then try again.

Unable to open tablet edition of a website on iPad
Hi Joan_Spalding,
I suggest you to restore your iPad along with iTunes. You have to be sure that you have backedup and have matched recently all the important applications you have in your iPad. Then, If not you can also access those by the iCloud.
After the restoration, go back to the application on your iPad, look for the tab to permit the tablet access. Then you have to type your own account and log in your existing email password. Then, you will now be able to download one at a time.
Hope this might help you.
Thanks
