I have an InfoPath form that have 50 columns. Whenever I try to publish it, I get an error saying "Cannot Update Library or List". I am thinking that this is caused by the number of columns as I have tried with lesser columns and did not get an error. Is there a limit to the number of columns in SharePoint? If there is, then is there an available workaround? I am running SharePoint 2010.

Unable to publish to SharePoint
Hello Michael,
There is a limit to the number of columns that you can use in SharePoint, and you case you could have exceeded the limit and that is why you are getting the error message.
The limits in the SharePoint document that you are creating are creating are determined by factors such as the column type that you using for that particular list. For instance, you can be able to work with 32 columns in a list that has the information such as number and currency, but for a list that contains the data such as date and time, you will be allowed to work with only 16 columns in the table.
