Unable to start computer in a normal mode

I was unable to start my Windows XP computer. When I was booting it I got messed up with an error. After restoring my computer to an earlier date, the screen went dark. The only way I can start it up is through Safe mode with networking. It did not help when I used the Last known good configuration option. I successfully started it using Safe mode, it showed that the computer has been restored to the specific date. I shut down and restarted the computer but it still gave me the same error. Why is this so? I need help. Thanks!

The reason why your computer shows a dark screen when you boot it in the normal mode could be because of a corrupted user account. In case you have logged on to the operating system, and what comes up is a dark screen, then it may mean that the account you are using has problems, and therefore if you have another user account it will be handy in this case. Instead of using safe mode to log on to the computer, you might want to try using the alternative user account to log on and see what the response is. Once you have logged on with the alternative account, you can now be able to access the corrupted account through the main hard drive, and then you can try fixing the problem with that account.

I think that there is a program that disable your window and it only shows you a dark screen on the start. So in this case first boot your system in safe mode and then if you have installed some program earlier then try to remove that program. This program may contain some errors and that's why you are getting this error message. You can solve your problem by deleting that program form your computer. More over you need to check your disk and make it error free run a chkdsk on your computer .And make sure that your computer is virus free. Run a full virus scan on your computer and then check for any error. check the color scheme also if you have changed you color scheme in your window or the resolution of your window in earlier days then you need to check it also and make it normal. That is what i can tell you i hope you will be able to solve your problem.
